Toward Career Choice 1

Education and career choices are influenced by several factors such as favorite subjects at school, interests and hobbies, personality, childhood dreams, culture, role models, employment prospects and changes in the job market, and sometimes even by the expectations of the others. However, it is important to apply to education and training which gives an opportunity to develop one’s skills and abilities and find an interesting job. The objective of the following exercise set is to help students discover their current interests, expectations and wishes. Later on, when your students have more information about various education and career options, they can evaluate how their interests have changed.

This exercise set can be applied in face to face counseling and classroom counseling. Some exercises may be used as homework assignment as well in order to give students enough time to ponder their ideas.

Guidelines for counselors

This exercise set proceeds progressively (Parts 1 – 5) and may require a few counseling lessons to be completed. Alternatively, individual exercises can be picked randomly according to the need and capability of the students to accomplish the exercises.

Before proceeding with Part 1 (influences on career choice), it is advisable to discuss about potential factors that can have an impact on career choice. Give students also a concrete example for instance by telling about the factors and people that influenced your education and career choice.

Before continuing to Part 2 (characteristics of work) it is important to discuss about the characteristics of work with the students: to open the meaning of the expression by asking for and giving examples, and by describing that the characteristics of work are in fact dreams, wishes and expectations students have for tasks and working conditions in their future career. At least younger students may find this expression difficult to understand. Alternatively, the list of work characteristics on a worksheet can be modified with more simple and explanatory statements such as I like speaking foreign languages, I like working alone, I want to have a good salary, and I don’t like working outdoors.

It is also important to conclude the exercise set and compare the results: Do the results indicate similar direction for one’s career path?

ការអប់រំ និងជម្រើសអាជីពគឺទទួលឥទិ្ធពលពីកត្តាជាច្រើនដូចជា មុខវិជ្ជាជាទីពេញចិត្តនៅ​សាលា​​រៀន ចំណាប់អារម្មណ៍នាពេលបច្ចុប្បន្ន និងល្បែងកំសាន្ត ចរិយាសម្បតិ្ត ក្តីសុបិន​កាល​នៅកុមារ វប្បធម៌  មនុស្សដែលគេយកជាធ្វើជាគំរូ  ការរំពឹងទុកនៃការងារ និងបំលាស់ប្តូរនៃទីផ្សារ​ការ​ងារ ហើយជូនកាល ជម្រើសនេះទទួល​ពីក្តីរំពឹង​ទុករបស់អ្នកដទៃ​។​ ទោះជាយ៉ាងណាក្តី  ជារឿង​សំខាន់​ក្នុងការទទួលការអប់រំ និងការបណ្តុះបណ្តាលណាដែល​ផ្តល់ឳកាស​ដើម្បីអភិវឌ្ឍ​ជំនាញ​ និងសមត្ថភាព ហើយរកការងារដែលគួរឲ្យចាប់អារម្មណ៍។​  គោលបំណងនៃលំហាត់នេះ​រៀបចំ ដើម្បីជួយ​សិស្សឲ្យសែ្វងយល់ពីចំណាប់អារម្មណ៍ ក្តីរំពឹងទុក និងក្តីប្រាថ្នារបស់គេ។  ក្រោយមក ពេលសិស្សរបស់អ្នកមានព័ត៌មានច្រើន​អំពី​ការអប់រំ និងជម្រើសអាជីព​ផ្សេងៗ គេអាច​វាយតម្លៃបានថាចំណាប់អារម្មណ៍​របស់គេមាន​​ការផ្លាស់ប្តូរយ៉ាងណា។​ លំហាត់ដែលបានរៀបចំឡើងនេះ​អាចយកមក​ប្រើប្រាស់​សំរាប់ការ​ប្រឹក្សា​យោបល់ទល់មុខ និងក្នុងថា្នក់បាន។ លំហាត់ខ្លះក៏អាចដាក់​ជាកិច្ចការផ្ទះបានដែរ ដើម្បី​ឲ្យសិស្សមានពេលគ្រប់គ្រាន់ក្នុងការ​ពិចារណា​នូវគំនិតរបស់គេ។

លំហាត់នេះរៀបចំឡើងជាបន្តបន្ទាប់ (ផ្នែក ១ – ៥)  ហើយអាចតម្រូវឲ្យមានមេរៀនប្រឹក្សា​យោបល់មួយចំនួនដើម្បីបញ្ចប់ ។ ជាជម្រើស លំហាត់សំរាប់បុគ្គលអាចជ្រើសយកដោយមិន ត្រៀមទុកយោងតាមតម្រូវការ​ និងសមត្ថភាពរបស់សិស្សដើម្បីបញ្ចប់លំហាត់។

មុននឹងបន្តផ្នែក១ (ឥទ្ឋិពលលើជម្រើសអាជីព) គួរតែពិភាក្សាអំពីកត្តា​សក្តានុពលណា​ដែល​មាន​ផលប៉ៈពាល់ដល់ជម្រើសអាជីព។ ចូរផ្តល់ឧទាហរណ៍ឲ្យបានច្បាស់លាស់ដល់សិស្ស ដូចជា​​ការនិយាយអំពីកត្តា និងមនុស្សដែលមានឥទ្ឋិពលដល់ការអប់រំ និងជម្រើសអាជីព របស់គេ។ មុនបន្តទៅផ្នែក២ (លក្ខណៈនៃការងារ) ជាការសំខាន់ក្នុងការពិភាក្សាអំពី លក្ខណៈ​នៃការងារជាមួយសិស្សៈ ដើម្បីបើកចំហរអត្ថន័យនៃការបញេ្ចញមតិតាម​ការសាក​សួរ និងផ្តល់ជាឧទាហរណ៍ និងតាមការរៀបរាប់ថាលក្ខណៈនៃការងារគឺស្ថិតក្នុងកី្ត​សុបិននៃការពិត សេចក្តីប្រាថ្នា ការរំពឹងទុកដែលសិស្សមានចំពោះការងារ និងល័កខ័ណ្ឌ​នៃ​ការងារសំរាប់អាជីពនាពេលអនាគតរបស់គេ។ យ៉ាងហោចណាស់ សិស្សក្មេងៗអាចពិបាក យល់​​នូវការបញ្ចេញមតិនេះ។ ជាជម្រើស​ បញ្ជីនៃលក្ខណៈការងារនៅលើសន្លឹកកិច្ចការអាច ធ្វើការកែប្រែបាន ដោយមានប្រយោគងាយស្រួលយល់​ ដូចជា ខ្ញុំចូលចិត្តនិយាយភាសា បរទេស  ខ្ញុំចូលចិត្តធ្វើការងារ​ម្នាក់ឯង  ខ្ញុំចង់បានប្រាក់ខែច្រើន  ខ្ញុំមិនចូលចិត្តធ្វើការក្រៅ ការិយាល័យទេ។​

Practical Approach to Career Counseling / ST             វិធីសាស្រ្តដែលមានប្រយោជន៍សំរាប់ការប្រឹក្សាអាជីព/ ST
