Exploring Careers

This exercise set will help students explore various jobs and identify some as their tentative career options. The set consists of the following activities and/or worksheets:

·        Job Puzzles

·   Careers Explore List (and its related exercises: A pleasing and meaningful job and A typical working day, Toward Career Choice 2)

·        Informational Interviewing

The first two exercises can be applied in face to face counseling and classroom counseling. Both work well also as homework assignments: students have then enough time to retrieve information. It is highly recommended that the preparations for informational interviews are made under career counselor’s guidance. At first sight this exercise may seem more demanding than it actually is.

The exercises proceed progressively and may require a few counseling lessons to be completed. Alternatively, individual exercises can be picked randomly according to the need and capability of the students to accomplish the exercises. Careers Explore List and Informational Interviewing are more suitable for students at upper secondary level, but can also be applied at lower secondary level with modifications, for instance by limiting the number of questions to only 3 – 5 basic questions.

Careers Explore List requires students to use various sources of information that are objective. The importance of the role of the career counselor guiding students toward accurate sources cannot be underestimated herein.

IMPORTANT POINT! It is often easy and tempting to make assumptions about a career field based on others’ opinions and what we see in the media. Please advise your students that major decisions like career choices should not be made solely on the advice or experiences of one person. Furthermore, it is good to have other career options in related fields as back-up plans in addition to dream careers.

·        បញ្ជីនៃការស្វែងរកអាជីព   (និងលំហាត់ពាក់ព័ន្ធៈ ការងារប្រកបដោយអត្ថន័យ និងភាពរីករាយ  ថ្ងៃធ្វើការធម្មតា ឆ្ពោះទៅកាន់អាជីព ២)

·        ការសម្ភាសន៍សែ្វងរកព័ត៌មាន

លំហាត់ពីរដំបូងអាចយកទៅប្រើសំរាប់ការប្រឹក្សាទល់មុខ និងការប្រឹក្សាក្នុងថ្នាក់រៀន។ លំហាត់​ទាំងពីរ​នេះអាចយកធ្វើជាកិច្ចការផ្ទះក៏ល្អដែ​រៈ ពេលនោះសិស្សមានពេលគ្រប់គ្រាន់ ដើម្បីរកបាន​មកវិញនូវព័ត៌មាន។ ជាសំណូមពរ  ការត្រៀមខ្លួនសំរាប់បទសម្ភាសន៍ស្វែងរកព័ត៌មានគឺធ្វើតាម​ការណែនាំរបស់អ្នកប្រឹក្សាយោបល់ ។​ ដំបូង​ លំហាត់នេះហាក់បី​ដូចជា​មានតម្រូវ​ការច្រើនជាង​ភាព​ពិត​របស់វា។

លំហាត់ទាំងនេះមានដំណើរការទៅមុខប្រកបដោយភាពរីកចំរើន និងអាចតម្រូវឲ្យរៀន​ចប់​មេរៀន​​ប្រឹក្សាយោបល់ពីរ ឬបី។ ជាជម្រើស យើងអាចធ្វើការជ្រើសយកលំហាត់មួយៗ​ដោយ​ចៃដន្យ ទៅ​តាម​តម្រូវការ និងសមត្ថភាពរបស់សិស្សដើម្បីបញ្ចប់លំហាត់នោះ ។ បញ្ជីស្វែងរកអាជីព និងបទ​សម្ភាសន៍​សែ្វងរកព័ត៌មានគឺសាកសមសំរាប់សិស្សកំរិតមធ្យមសិក្សា ប៉ុន្តែអាច​ប្រើបានសំរាប់កំរិត​បឋមដែរ​ដោយមានការកែប្រែមួយចំនួន ឧទាហរណ៍តាមរយៈ កំណត់យកសំណួរសំខាន់ៗត្រឹមតែ​៣ ទៅ ៥​។

បញ្ជីស្វែងរកអាជីពតម្រូវឲ្យសិស្សប្រើប្រភពនៃព័ត៌មានផ្សេងៗដែលចំគោលដៅ។ សារៈសំខាន់​នៃ​តួ​នាទី​​របស់​​អ្នកប្រឹក្សាយោបល់ក្នុងការណែនាំសិស្សឆ្ពោះ​ទៅរកប្រភពដ៏ត្រឹមត្រូវ​មិនអាច​មើល​រំលង​បាន​ឡើយនៅទីនេះ។

ចំណុចសំខាន់!  ជារឿងងាយស្រួល និងទាក់ទាញក្នុងការធ្វើក្តីសន្និដ្ឋានអំពីវិស័យអាជីព​ដោយផ្អែក​លើ​គំនិតរបស់អ្នកដទៃ និងអ្វីដែលយើងបានឃើញតាមការផ្សព្វផ្សាយ។ ចូរផ្តល់ ដំបូន្មាន​ដល់សិស្ស​ថា ការ​សំរេចចិត្តចំបងដូចជាជម្រើសអាជីព មិនគួរធ្វើដោយមនុស្ស​​ដែលមានបទ​ពិសោធន៍តែម្នាក់​នោះ​ទេ។ លើសពីនេះ   ជាការប្រសើរបើសិស្សមាន​ជម្រើសអាជីពផ្សេងទៀត​ដែលពាក់ព័ន្ធនឹង​វិស័យ​នោះ ដូចជាផែនការបម្រុងទុកបន្ថែម​លើ​អាជីពក្នុងកី្តសុបិន្ត។
